The Civic museums offer a rich and varied heritage of great artistic and historical value accessible to all: visitors can follow centuries of art and culture, from the finds in the Archaeological Museum to the artworks of the Museo del Novecento, from dinosaurs at the Natural History Museum to the tanks in the Civic Aquarium, plus, buildings that house the historical collections, the Villa Reale with GAM – Modern Art Gallery and all the museums housed in the Castello Sforzesco.
Contemporary art and a breathtaking view are two of the reasons you must visit the Museo del Novecento in Piazza Duomo. About 400 works of art are on display including paintings, sculptures and installations, spanning from the work by Pellizza da Volpedo it moves through futurism till the artists of the second half of the XX century. Not to be missed the Sala Fontana, its breathtaking view on the Cathedral and the big neon hanging from the ceiling.
